Annual Bluegrass

Annual Bluegrass, or Poa Annua, is one of the most common varieties of undesirable weed grasses that homeowners encounter on their lawns. In fact, almost every lawn will have some Annual Bluegrass.

Nimblewill

Nimblewill, also commonly referred to as ”Nimbleweed” or "Wiregrass," is a creeping, invasive grass species known for its ability to invade and choke out native plant species, making it an unwelcome invader in many regions.

Nutsedge

Nutsedge is a type of weed that grows in warm and humid climates. Sedges are difficult to control because they have a deep root system and seeds that can germinate over a long period of time.

Quackgrass

Quackgrass is an invasive, perennial grass species characterized by its creeping rhizomes, which grow underground and send up new shoots. It grows fast and spreads quickly, displacing desirable plants.

Slime Mold

Slime Mold is a fungus-like organism that can appear in lawns and spread quickly, appearing as a thin layer of slimy, paste-like material that covers the leaf blades.

Sod Webworms

Sod Webworms are small, tan-coloured caterpillars that are active during hot, dry weather. They cause damage by eating the blades of grass, leaving brown patches.

Summer Patch Disease

Summer Patch occurs during the hot and humid summer months, particularly in areas with poor soil drainage or heavy thatch buildup. Symptoms include yellowing and browning grass with patches of dead or dying turf.

Tall Fescue

Tall Fescue is a perennial cool-season grass that is identified by its tall, dense blades, which have a deep green color and a rough texture. It can be problematic in residential lawns because it is highly invasive and difficult to control and remove.

Unserviceable Lawn

A lawn is unserviceable when it is damaged so extensively that any type of lawn care program would be ineffective until a lawn renovation is completed.

White Grubs

White Grubs are the larvae of certain species of beetles, such as the Japanese Beetle, June Beetle, and European Chafer. White Grub infestations are most common in lawns that have been recently established or those that have thin, weak turf.

Wild Proso Millet

Wild Proso Millet is a grass species that is native to Central Asia and parts of Europe and is now considered a weed in some areas. It is a hardy plant that is considered undesirable in normal turfgrass.

Yellow Patch

Yellow Patch will appear as yellow, brown, or tan patches on the lawn, ranging in size from a few inches to several feet in diameter. Affected grass may be stunted and have a thin or sparse appearance.
